Female Focused

Here are a few female-focused support groups and activities:

  • The Women’s Initiative offers a plethora of services geared to empower women and minimize the systemic oppression, regardless of your ability to pay. Explore their resources to transform life challenges into opportunities for change and growth.

  • Gateway Church has a support group for women who are going through or have went through a divorce.

  • For Hers understands the importance of mental health, especially in the current environment, and thus offering free virtual group support sessions based on a variety of topics like coping with COVID-19, trouble with sleep, relationship questions, managing anxiety and more.


Adolescence Focused


Minority Focused

  • Black Women Healing Circles is a support group located in Houston, TX for women of color who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder or have a family member struggling with illness. You will need to request to join to access meetings.

  • The Brown Girl Therapy Newsletter offers information on its virtual meet-ups, workshops, and resources on mental health

  • QTPoc Mental Health offers a Facebook group and holds physical meetings in New York.

  • Asian Mental Health Project offers weekly ‘community check-in sessions’ open to anyone interested. Many of these meeting also include guest speakers who cover a wide variety of mental health discussions.


Trauma Focused

Here are a few trauma-focused support groups as well as group therapy sessions:

  • Montrose Center envisions to positively impact attitudes and behaviors in order to create a healthier society, with a focus on the LGBTQ community.

  • The Sexual Trauma & Abuse Care Center offers free and confidential services to support people of all ages and genders who have experienced sexual trauma or abuse.

  • Asian Mental Health Project offers weekly ‘community check-in sessions’ open to individuals in any location. Some topics covered include sexual trauma discussion led my a mental health expert.

This organization offers countless depression and bipolar support groups with a number of focuses such as LGBTQ+, adolescent, military and veterans, and also offer groups in Spanish. All are free, confidential, and require no registration.
